STORY

In Koutouloufari, a beautiful traditional settlement with a wonderful view of the Hersonissos bay, a couple, Alexandros and Maria, decided in 1988 to convert an old stone-built house into a traditional restaurant.

In 2019, the new generation, Irini and Aris, take over the reins of the restaurant. Alexandros and Maria became their mentors, they were the ones who cultivated their passion for cooking and taught them the dedication to local cuisine and the commitment to the excellent quality of the raw materials.

They decide to take the philosophy they were taught a step further.  They include authentic or creatively “teased” recipes from ancient Greek and Minoan cuisine on the menu. At the same time, they themselves grow many of the vegetables and herbs they use and of course the extra virgin olive oil.  The culinary experience offered by the restaurant is upgraded.

Maria

Maria, is the heart of ``Galini``, she has traveled the entire route of our restaurant since 1988, through its kitchen. Her great experience, her deep knowledge of traditional Cretan cuisine, but also her enthusiasm are reflected in her dishes.

Irini continues the family tradition with a modern more imaginative and creative look. The soul and mind of 'Galini' is driven by her passion for perfection and it is she who hides behind every careful detail you will notice.

Dit is echt het beste restaurant van Chersonissos. Vanaf het moment dat je aankomt een warm welkom en krijg je de beste service. Wij zaten boven waar je een schitterend uitzicht hebt en bediend wordt door Aris. En Aris is echt een fantastische ober! Je krijgt echt het gevoel van een sterren restaurant. Het eten is ook echt serieus goed. Van het huis word je tevens verwend met een welkomstdrankje, ijs en raki als afsluiter. Wij zijn er twee keer geweest in de 10 dagen Cherso. Maar als we de eerste dagen daar al waren geweest en met de kennis van de andere restaurants daar, hadden we echt iedere dag Galini gedaan voor het diner.

Έφαγα με την κοπέλα μου στα γενέθλια της, τρομερό εστιατόριο πολύ ποιοτικό φαγητό προτιμούσαμε τις επιλογές θαλασσινών για 2 άτομα, Κάτσαμε στο πάνω τμήμα το οποίο έχει απίθανη θέα αξίζει σίγουρα μια επίσκεψη για κάποιον που θέλει να φάει κάπου ποιοτικά .

Just had an amazing time at Restaurant Galini in Koutouloufari! Seriously, the food is out-of-this-world fantastic. I mean, we're talking mind-blowingly good. The vibe is super cool, the atmosphere is on point, and the staff totally gets how to make your night incredible. Seriously, don't overthink it – just go and have a blast. You won't regret it!

Kollade inför bröllopsmiddag hösten -23. Fastnade totalt för serviceupplevelsen och maten. (Ägarinnans kusin var den som servade oss då). Under kommande vinter sattes menyer ihop och vi lämnade egentligen allt ansvar till Irini (ägarinnan). På plats dagarna innan mottogs vi med en sån proffesion och vi kände oss så trygga med valet vi gjort. Irini styrde upp allt för oss och vi fick en otrolig resa med smaker var delikata. Vi var som sagt 32 personer och inte någon sa ett enda negativt ord om restaurang. Vare sig mat eller service. Irini ordnade allt för oss så vi kunde lägga fokus på att vara med våra fantastiska vänner och släkt som tagit sig till Kreta bara för vår skull. Restaurangen ordnade även med transport både dit och hem, helt otroligt mysigt blev det. (Självklart betalade vi för det ). Tack Irini med personal, ni briljerade verkligen ❤️
